The church was dedicated to the Virgen del Rosario, patron saint of Fuerteventura's capital city. The regional Government of the Canary Islands has listed the church as a Building of Cultural Interest.

Inside the church there are various images of Nuestra Señora del Carmen, Nuestra Señora de Auxiliadora, Sagrado Corazón de Jesús Cristo, San José, San Luís Gonzaga and Nuestra Señora del rosario.
