Fuerteventura’s Cathedral Church. It was built under the orders of the conquistador Jean de Betancourt and in 1424 granted the status of a Cathedral. It was later destroyed by the pirate Xabán Arraez and rebuilt in the XVII c. There are as many as four architectonic styles present in this temple: Gothic, Baroque, Renaissance and Mudéjar (a Spanish art style with arabesque reminiscences). Inside the Cathedral, the two lateral retables are still preserved which are of a Neo-Classical style and the Main Retable which is Baroque. Items inside the temple: Pulpit, choir; Main Retable; Retable devoted to the Inmaculada; Retable devoted to the Sagrado Corazón de Jesús; Retable of Christ tied up to a column; Retable of the souls; Image of Nuestra Señora de los Dolores; Image of Jesus preaching; Image of the Virgen del Rosario.
