San Agustin hermitage is located next to Tefía (Puerto del Rosario municipality). It was founded in 1713 by a public collection among the local residents. When the hermitage was originally constructed it only had a square nave with a pitched roof with tiles. A vestry was attached at a later stage to the southern wall: The barbican is constructed in the XVIII c, it has two doors in the southern wall and the front one in the main façade. The main façade is of Mudejar influence (a Spanish architectonic style, XIII to XVI c., which incorporated arabesque ornamental elements to Christian art). The inner ceiling is made of wood carved with geometrical motifs. Inside the hermitage there are a number of sacred art pieces: • A number of sculptures made in wood and in plaster. • A XVIII pulpit, made in wood. • Oil paintings. Dinamatik Web Studio.
