According to local tradition, the hermitage was built next to a cave where San Diego de Alcalá used to pray. It has a single nave and a two-sided sloped roof. The Main Chappel is covered by a four-sided sloped roof. The belfry is attached to one of its sides, the whole building is surrounded by a wall.
