Artistic and cultural representations in Fuerteventura are very rich and numerous.
Some are direclty linked to the popular manifestations of folk, either in fiestas (rondallas and parrandas) or in local architecture.
Some other artistic manifestations have a  more universal sense, such as the Proyecto de la Montaña de Tindaya de Chillida. The Montaña de Tindaya (Tindaya's Mountain) is a place with magical connotations for the Majoreros where a symbolic space for tolerance was envisaged by the Basque sculptor.
It is also noticeable the Sacred art -present both in churches and hermitages- where it can be observed in the architecture and the artistic heritage. In this sense, it is remarkable the municipality of Betancuria and its Musemum of Sacred Art (Museo de Arte Sacro).
It is possible to find the work of local artists in the various art galleries of the island as well as in the numerous sculptures embellising Puerto Rosario.
